Press kit for RentLedger.
RentLedger is a local-first iOS app for individual landlords and small-portfolio property owners (1–10 units). It tracks rental income and expenses, scans receipts on-device with iOS Vision OCR, and auto-generates IRS Schedule E and 1099-NEC reports — all without accounts, servers, or cloud sync. Pricing is Monthly $4.99, Annual $39.99, or Lifetime $79.99. RentLedger sits between two unfit alternatives for a single-digit-unit landlord: spreadsheets (no tax forms, no receipt scanning) and full accounting suites like QuickBooks ($38/mo+) or per-unit landlord apps that scale costs as portfolios grow. It is built for the landlord who wants 15 minutes per week, not a second job.
Quick facts and founder bio
Founder bio
Praneet Soni is a software engineer and small landlord. He built RentLedger after years of trying to track rental expenses in spreadsheets — losing receipts, scrambling at tax season, and watching deductions slip away because nothing was logged the same way twice. The existing options didn't fit: QuickBooks was overkill, a bookkeeper wasn't worth the cost for a few units, and every other landlord app pushed cloud accounts and bank linking. RentLedger is the structured, auditable, on-device expense log Praneet wanted for himself — built so tax season takes an afternoon and no deduction goes unclaimed.

Boilerplate (100–150 words)
RentLedger is a local-first iOS app for landlords with 1–10 units. It replaces spreadsheets and overkill accounting tools with a purpose-built expense log that captures rent, scans receipts on the device with iOS Vision OCR, categorizes them against all 15 IRS Schedule E line items, and generates the Schedule E and 1099-NEC reports a CPA or self-filer can use directly. Every entry stays on the iPhone — no accounts, no servers, no bank linking, no cloud sync. Pricing is Monthly $4.99, Annual $39.99, or Lifetime $79.99 (one-time, all future updates included). Built and maintained by Praneet Soni, a software engineer and landlord who got tired of the year-end scramble. Available on the App Store for iPhone running iOS 26 or later.
